A Reflection
2025. Digital Photography
In this self-portrait series, I employ a hand-held rearview mirror to fragment and obscure my gaze. Each movement I make alters the camera’s position, mirroring the fleeting, partial glimpses of strangers we encounter in public spaces. At certain angles, my reflection vanishes entirely, alluding to themes of absence, anonymity, and the inherent uncertainty in our perceptions of ourselves and others.
Drawing inspiration from Claude Cahun, I transform a mundane daily interaction into a moment of self-reflection, inviting viewers to contemplate the boundary between presence and perception.
